Women In Print Magazine #3

Depictions of Women in The Printed Media

The third issue of Women in Print focuses on both the printed media past and present, shining a spotlight on a number of female portrayals: a 1987 Soviet-era fashion pamphlet called Moda; early 1980s Esprit ads; Virginia Slims' long-running ad campaign—"You've Come A Long Way Baby"; a collection of World War II venereal disease posters ("Good Time Gals"); and The Ladder, the first nationally distributed lesbian magazine in the United States.
