British Journal of Photography announces the 2024 Ones to Watch issue, featuring 15 international artists who epitomise the talent and creativity within lens-based practice today.
This special magazine is the culmination of an exhaustive nomination process in which photography experts including Simon Baker, Bindi Vora, Charlotte Cotton and Myriam Boulos submitted hundreds of worthy image-makers. The 15 selected are each profiled and have their work published in this issue, the 13th iteration of Ones to Watch. Nominees from previous years include Salih Basheer, Rehab Eldalil and Micaiah Carter.

The magazine cover is an image from Michał Maliński’s series ‘Vita Aeterna’, in which the Polish artist explores his grandmother’s interest in alternative medicines. This issue also features our regular Agenda and Intelligence sections, in which we preview the most exciting exhibitions – including Les Rencontres d’Arles and ‘The Real Thing’ at The Met – and interrogate current trends in photography and its changing institutions.
