Milk Mouth Issue 1
Milk Mouth Media is a publication of the world and for the world, aiming to take back the narrative mainstream media has long imposed on the global majority; whilst spotlighting a space where art and politics are part of the same whole. Lead by a Lebanese and backed by friends that span various countries across the globe, the first issue looks at what we crave and what we reject as not just matters of the tongue, but of history, culture, power, money, and gender. It speaks about who dictates taste and how it's weaponised. The name Milk Mouth was chosen partly because it’s campy (very much like our essence) and partly because milk is our very first taste of knowledge. Something that seems to be growing rarer with the passage of time. With that, as you begin to flip through our sometimes serious, sometime sardonic, and at other times playful pages, we leave you with these words “to those who have ever felt their food, their identity, or their memory contested, this is a warm welcome. And to everyone else, let taste be your measure of judgement.”
