A new bilingual magazine platforming contemporary creative voices from China, In Between offers an experimental space for those operating in the margins. Symptomatic of ‘a particular condition shared by many creators today’, the magazine defies oversimplified categorisation and avoids presenting completed works; instead, it presents ‘fragments, hesitations, intuitions’ that resonate more closely with the fluidity of art and culture today. The debut issue is open bound, featuring personal interviews with artists, designers and cultural practitioners, interspersed with poetic imagery.
