Frieze #240

Over 32 years, Frieze has developed from outsider indie to become the leading magazine for contemporary art and culture, and spawned art fairs in London, New York and Los Angeles. It provides international art coverage, criticism and analysis and promises (if not always achieving) jargon-free language.

The first issue of 2024 is inspired by the 70 elections scheduled to take place across the globe this year, including in India, the UK, and the US. Frieze leans into the political side of art and the artistic side of politics with Rose Finn-Kelcey’s statement flags, Here is a Gale Warning(1971-2011) featured on the cover. Her work is included in the Tate Britain’s ‘Women in Revolt!’ exhibit featured here in Frieze alongside six love letters to LA, Meredith Monk exploring how sound makes a space, and much more.
