ScissorMag is a working-class, female-led publication that sees the disproportionality present in creative industries as the true obstacle to contemporary art. With a focus on connecting and elevating young creatives from all backgrounds, we give new voices room to be heard without having to know someone on the inside.

Our first issue, female hysteria, explores the social caricatures created to shame and contain womanhood. We challenge the label of hysterical assigned to our biology, spaces, and expression by capturing the diversity of the female experience and unfixing the archaic, singular identity that has for so long attempted to define us. Scissormag defines womanhood as the lived experience of anyone who identifies with this term.
