‘Bill’ is an annual magazine that prioritises visual reading of its photographic stories without the distraction of text. This issue contains 192 offset pages printed in CMYK, silver, and black and white on a dozen different paper stocks, along with some Japanese bound signatures.

There is a sheet of mirror paper inserted in this issue; the spine says démodé but it comes from Trockel’s work; and the magazine without words almost betrays itself as the index page offers a beautiful text, excerpted from an essay by Ettore Sottsass, evoking “those bits of paper that cost nothing and were worth nothing, those shreds of newspapers . . .”
