212 #18

212 is a biannual magazine based out of Istanbul, published and distributed internationally.

It contains short fiction and long-form reportage; distinctive photo essays and revealing interviews.

Even though it was born in the city where east meets west (as the love-worn cliche goes), the magazine seeks to transcend the loaded dichotomies of Istanbul’s favourite metaphor, and extends its gaze far beyond the region.

Issue #18 - Cura

This issue is named 'Cura', the latin word for 'care.' With photography both warm and striking, following a recurring theme of portraits and nature, inside 'offers a diverse and multi-faceted exploration of care from around the world.'

Featuring a conversation with author Kaveh Akbar, moving photography series' from Tamaki Yoshida and Siân Davey, as well as, a story from Michael Siarek about a remote town in Norway named Gamvik.
