Exhibist is one of the first independent, non-profit English-language magazines focusing on contemporary art from Turkey and has an international distribution in more than 20 locations across Europe and America. It has also become one of the most popular art magazines in Istanbul.
Every issue of the magazine, printed quarterly, includes two extensive features of upcoming Turkish artists or analytical essays, overviews of established artists from Turkey, as well as sections providing information on Galleries featuring Turkish Contemporary Art and related exhibitions and events.
Issue 9 has a special focuson the Future of the Istanbul Art Scene.
The magazine features interviews with Mari Spirito, director and curator at Alt Art Space Istanbul, Paul McMillen, curator, communication expert and artist based in Istanbul and Vasif Kortun, Director of Research and Programmes at SALT.
Merve Ünsal's essay 'Thinking of Hope Through Images of Women' features works by Ceylan Öztürk and Işıl Eğrikavuk, while another essay focuses on Bahar Yürükoğlu and Sinem Dişli.
The magazine also introduces new spaces and galleries in Istanbul and Artist Collectives from Turkey.
