Exhibist is one of the first independent, non-profit English-language magazines focusing on contemporary art from Turkey and has an international distribution in more than 20 locations across Europe and America. It has also become one of the most popular art magazines in Istanbul.
Every issue of the magazine, printed quarterly, includes two extensive features of upcoming Turkish artists or analytical essays, overviews of established artists from Turkey, as well as sections providing information on Galleries featuring Turkish Contemporary Art and related exhibitions and events.
Issue 13 has a special focus on Transnationalism & Contemporary Art.
The magazine features interviews with Michael Elmgreen & Ingar Dragset, curators of the 15th Istanbul Biennial and Özkan Golpinar, lecturer, writer and member of the Dutch Council for Culture.
The current issue includes an essay by Stephanie Bailey titled 'A World Affair - Transcultural Spaces & Darker Modernities' and an essay titled 'Identify Yourself' featuring Melis Bürsin and Suat Ögüt by Eric Beyer.
The magazine introduces established artists such as Mehtap Baydu, Ergin Cavuşoğlu, Ahmet Polat, Servet Kocyiğit, Viron Erol Vert and Bashir Borlakov and a section focusing on projects and exhibitions focusing on transculturalism and contemporary art.
