Climbers #1

CLIMBERS is an independent print magazine about the art, ideas, style and culture in the climbing world.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

This new launch covers all aspects of climbing: the sport, the people, the culture.

Climbing culture and storytelling from a less explored angle.

Traditionally, we talk a lot about performance, training, first ascents, all-time legends and the new crushers on the block. But CLIMBERS wants to go beyond the expected topics and faces. Why? Because while all of these things are great, there's so much more to talk about and few media platforms cover these other crucial aspects of our sport and lifestyle. At least not in the way we imagine it.

There are so many climbing-adjacent stories waiting to be told from climbers everywhere. Their life experiences and ideas underpin and contribute to our climbing culture and the community we all help to build.

These are the things outside of trying hard that sustain us as individuals to keep coming back to the gym or rock, and try hard.
Proudly independent.

The team behind CLIMBERS comes from diverse backgrounds ranging from architecture to sustainability and environmental work. We’re super keen to create a new publication that feels awesome, makes room for untold stories and withstands the passing of time looking good on your coffee table.

Our inspiration draws from surf and skate publications such as Monster Children and The Surfers Journal, and indie magazines like Offscreen, Mondial or Racquet.
