James Kemmenoe (Author, Photographer)
A collection of photographs taken by James Kemmenoe during the Black Lives Matter protests in London, 2020. The book provides a moving document of those events and is beautifully produced. Printed in London by MJCP.
'The photographs that make up this book were taken on the 3rd, 6th and 7th of June 2020 in Central London. People from across the capital and beyond had come together to protest, to march... These protests were huge. Had you sat in one spot the marches would have taken hours to pass you. I was not sat in one spot, I covered many miles on foot and was overwhelmed by both emotion and workload. The number of people involved and their attitude made these days exhilarating, but of course never far from our thoughts was the sad question; why are we still having to do this in 2020.'
