Foyer #2

FOYER is an independent magazine celebrating and exploring untold stories from people of mixed, third culture and second-generation cultural heritage

FOYER /ˈfɔɪeɪ/ noun

English: a hall, a lobby or anteroom, used for reception, a place where people can wait and meet each other

French: a hearth, a home or household, a social club

FOYER Issue 02: Hearth & Home
Our second issue presents a special focus on what it feels like to belong, in all its shapes and sizes, through the concept of ‘home is where the heart is’. We explore this feeling of homeliness (or not!) through the rooms of a house, taking us from the kitchen to the living room, through the study room and into the garden. Looking at memories of food and family, clothing and hair oiling, video animation, and floristry, we see how different people connect to feelings of home through articles, fiction pieces, memoirs, illustrations and photo essays.
